Haninge HK was one of 63 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Eken cup 2017. They participated with 7 teams in Boys 08, Boys 05, Boys 03 and Girls 07 respectively. The team in Boys 05 made it to the the Final Boys05 D in Slutspel Aand won it over ÅRSTA AIK HF Kärrtorp by 17-9.
In addition to this, Haninge HK have participated in Eken cup before. During Eken cup 2016, Haninge had 6 teams playing in Boys 05, Boys 03, Girls 07 and Girls 05 respectively. Five teams played until 15-16 in Slutspel A; Girls 07 1 won over IK Bolton 2 by 8-7, Girls 07 2 won over Hammarby Handboll 1 by 17-4, Girls 05 1 won over IFK Tumba HK by 10-9, Girls 05 2 won over Skuru IK 2 by 14-9 and Boys 05 lost against Spånga Handboll Bromma by 3-8. Haninge comes from Västerhaninge which lies approximately 16 km from Stockholm, where Eken cup takes place. The area around Västerhaninge does also provide 48 additional clubs participating during Eken cup 2017 (Among others: Westermalms IF, HK Silwing Troja, Hanviken Handboll, Gustavsbergs IF HK, Skogås HK, IF Swithiod HK, Spårvägens HF, Gustavsbergs IF, IF Swithiod and Lidingö SK).
